Alvin Kamara, Saints Running Back

The Saints and Vikings are each coming off losses as their enter their Christmas Day tilt. New Orleans couldn’t quite overcome a 14-0 deficit to the Chiefs in Week 15, while Minnesota was trounced by Mitchell Trubisky and the Bears, leaving them at 6-8 and all but eliminated from playoff contention.

Let’s take a look at three bets to make for this NFC Showdown:

Line: Saints -7 (+105)

Total Points: 51.0

Expected Weather: Dome

Emmanuel Sanders over 56.5 receiving yards (-112)

Sanders will be Brees’ No. 1 WR Michael Thomas is on IR  and the 33-year-old has delivered when he’s played without MT, owning a 23.6% target share in those games (15th-highest among wide receivers). He notched 76 yards on five targets last week and crossing the 57-yard threshold is more than likely.

Alvin Kamara Over 47.5 Yards Receiving (-125)

Kamara’s receiving totals took a blunder while Tayson Hill was under center, though with Drew Brees back at QB, the running was utilized in the role we come to expect. Brees targeted Karama six times, netting 40 yards and a touchdown against the Chiefs, and the Vikings present a weaker matchup, especially without Eric Kendricks—the second-best grade (82.6) among linebackers according to Pro Football Focus—out of the game.

Win/Total Double: Saints Win, Over 51 (+132)

PointsBet allows you to place a wager on the team that wins and the total, in this case, I’m taking the Saints to win and the over (essentially the ML and over parlay). This is going to be a gain-momentum-game for Drew Brees as the Saints may enter Week 17 with little to play for (depending on the Packers’ outcome vs. the Titans and the Buccaneers vs. the Lions). I expect Sean Payton to fire away on all cylinders, gifting his offense with some of his best stuff on Christmas Day.
