The Minnesota Vikings travel to the Windy City to take on the Chicago Bears in a divisional Monday Night match up. Minnesota enters the game with a 3-5 record on the season but they are coming off back to back divisional wins in the last two weeks over Green Bay and Detroit. The Vikings stand at last place in the NFC North and can ill afford at loss as they are three and a half games behind the Packers.
With a win tonight, the Bears can climb to within a game and a half of the Packers with two games remaining against Green Bay. Chicago looked to be in the drivers’ seat in the North as they stood at 5-1 after six games but have dropped three straight as the Bears offense seems to be in a tailspin.
The weather should be clear around kickoff with the temps in the low 40’s and around 15 mph winds. Let’s take a look at some tickets to cash for tonight’s game.
Dalvin Cook Under 86.5 Rushing Yards (-112)
Cook has been sensational this season, especially the last two weeks as he has run for 369 yards and five touchdowns in the last two weeks. Dalvin is the second leading rusher in the league through nine weeks and has been unstoppable, but he hasn’t faced this defense.
The Bears defense is finally starting to get healthy and they are starting to be the stop unit that have been in recent years. In the last two weeks, Chicago has held the NFL rushing leader, Derrick Henry, to 68 yards on the heels of holding Alvin Kamara to 67 yards the week prior.
Chicago always plays the Vikings tough and much of that is the familiarity of a division foe. The Bears know the formula on how to beat Minnesota and they have the tools to do it. Chicago knows that you have to stop the run and put the game into Kirk Cousins‘ hands. Green Bay and Detroit may know the formula, but they do not have the players to enforce it.
It will be tough sledding for Cook tonight as the Bears will be all out to stop the run. In a perfect buy low spot, Cook’s total rushing yards is very high at 86.5 yards based on his performance the last two weeks. Get down on the under!
Allen Robinson to Score a TD (+130)
Due to the recent struggles of the Bears offense, head coach Matt Nagy has agreed to hand the play-calling duties over to offensive coordinator Bill Lazor. The play calling should be noticeably better tonight.
Many observers of NFL football have openly spoken about this diamond in the rough as Robinson is the shining gem on the Bears offense. There have been trade rumors swirling around Robinson in recent weeks as he feels he is not being utilized to the best of his ability in this offense.
As the offensive coordinator, Lazor has to be licking his chops to spotlight his best weapon in a prime time game. Look for Robinson to get the ball early and often.
Chicago Bears +3 (-103)
As previously mentioned, the Bears always show up for the Vikings and tonight should be no different. The defense is turning the corner to be a top defensive unit in the NFL. With the play calling in the hands of Lazor, the offense will be more efficient. Expect the offense and the defense to feed off each other.
This is a favorable price for tonight’s game and a buy-low spot on the Bears. Minnesota’s offense looked unstoppable during their last two wins. Chicago has lost three straight. The opening line for tonight’s game had Chicago as two-point favorites, but because of recency bias, the line has moved five points away from the Bears. This movement gives the Bears great value for this game.
