Will someone please step up and claim the NFC East? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? No? Okay then.
The NFC East has been the worst division in the NFL this season and it’s not even close. Neither the New York Giants nor Washington Football Team is out of the running. The Eagles lead the division with a 3-4-1 record while Washington is 2-5 and the Giants aren’t far behind at 1-7.
Washington is coming off a bye week and the Giants are coming off a 25-23 loss to the Buccaneers on Monday Night Football.

Which Team Will Be Better on Offense?
If you are expecting a high-scoring affair this Sunday between these two teams, I have some bad news for you.
These two teams rank near the bottom in total offense and in points per game. Washington averages 292.7 total yards per game while scoring 19 points per game. The Giants average 291.8 yards per game and 18.1 points per game.
The only team to score less than these two teams is the winless Jets, who average 11.8 points per game.
More Notes on New York and Washington
- New York leads the all-time series 104-69-4
- New York has won the last four meetings, most recently back in Week 6 in a 20-19 affair, giving the G-Men their lone win on the season.
- Both teams do an okay job of covering the spread as New York is 5-3 against the spread while Washington is 4-3. Too bad for them that covering the spread doesn’t result in wins.
