Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey suffered a high ankle sprain against Tampa Bay in Week 2. He has since been designated to return from injured reserve, with many expecting him to at least suit up against the Atlanta Falcons in this week’s Thursday night matchup.

McCaffrey will not play this week against the Falcons, per ESPN’s David Newton. Before his season was derailed by injury, he rushed 41 times for 156 yards and 4 touchdowns in two games. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater found him 7 times for 67 more yards in games one and two.

Obviously, it would be nice to get CMC back, however, Mike Davis was phenomenal in his place against Atlanta earlier in the season. The fill-in rushed for 89 yards and caught nine passes including a touchdown. Carolina will have to wait at least one more week to get their star on the field, but Mike Davis is ready to take it to the Falcons once again.
