The New York Giants confirmed a player tested positive for COVID-19 last night in a statement this morning. The player who tested positive and his close contacts are in isolation. These close contacts include OLB coach Bret Bielema and DBs coach Jerome Henderson, per Ian Rapoport. In an interesting move, the team made the decision to continue operating as normal, following their “normal practice and meeting schedule.”
This comes just a day after Houston had a player test positive and decided to close their facilities. The Giants do not play until Monday night against Tampa Bay, so there should be plenty of time to run more tests. At this point, there does not seem to be concern for a potential outbreak.
