Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin will miss at least Week 8 as he had to have surgery on his left index finger, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.

Godwin injured his finger in Sunday’s 45-20 victory over the Raiders on a touchdown catch. He finished the game with 9 receptions, 88 yards, and a touchdown.

Should Godwin miss more than just a week, the Bucs will have Antonio Brown, who officially signed with the team on Tuesday, available in Week 9, a week after his suspension ends. This gives Tom Brady yet another weapon as he continues to show that age is just a number.

Brady still has plenty of weapons as is, and one of them is Mike Evans. Expect Evans to have a big game next Monday against the Giants. Scotty Miller should also factor into the game plan as Brady likes to go to him often, including a 6/109/1 stat line against the Raiders.

Tampa Bay is 5-2 and Brady put himself in the MVP race against the Raiders with five total touchdowns.
