The San Francisco 49ers continue to be bit by the injury bug.
Second-year wide receiver Deebo Samuel will be sidelined for at least two weeks due to a hamstring strain. San Francisco will face the Seahawks this Sunday and then turn around and play the Packers in Week 10 on Thursday Night Football. After the game against the Packers, San Francisco will have a mini bye week.
Running back Jeff Wilson Jr. will be heading to the injured reserve list with what the team is calling a high ankle sprain. This is a big blow as Wilson had a dominant game this past week, rushing for 112 yards and three touchdowns in the 49ers 33-6 rout of the Patriots.
With Wilson out, Tevin Coleman could be removed from IR this week and get back on the field. Coleman has been in IR since Week 2. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said a decision likely wouldn’t be made until the end of the week.
Despite the seemingly endless injuries this season for San Francisco, the team sits at 4-3 in a loaded NFC West. The next two weeks will be very telling as to how this team can continue to navigate injuries.
