With nine days until the NFL trade deadline, the New York Giants have already made a deal.
The Giants traded outside linebacker Markus Golden to the Cardinals, according to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News. Giants will receive a 2021 sixth-round pick in exchange for the 29-year-old linebacker.
Golden was coming off a resurgent 2018 campaign with 37 tackles, 10 sacks, and 13 tackles for loss. Unfortunately, he was not a strong commodity in the unrestricted free agent market. He signed a tender offer to return to the team.
The Giants are currently making veterans like wideout Golden Tate and guard Kevin Zeitler available for trade. Zeitler was acquired in a 2019 trade with the Cleveland Browns for pass rusher Olivier Vernon.
New York is 1-6 on the season.
