Chiefs Patrick Mahomes

Due to this wacky season and rescheduling, we get another Monday night doubleheader. In the first game, the Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills and in the later game, the Arizona Cardinals will visit the Dallas Cowboys with Andy Dalton inserted as the starting quarterback following Dak Prescott‘s season-ending ankle injury.

The Chiefs enter tonight’s contest as 5.5-point favorites with the total is set at 55.5 points. Both the Chiefs and the Bills are coming off surprising losses as favorites. The Kansas City defense allowed the Raiders to go up and down the field en route to a 40-32 loss last week and on Monday, the Chiefs will need to figure out how to get stops against a Bills team that can score in bunches as well. Tennessee beat the Bills by a final score of 42-16 last Tuesday in a score that is somewhat deceiving as the Bills moved the ball well against the Titans.

The late-game has the Cowboys set as one-point favorites with the total at 54.5 points. Both teams have been disappointing so far this season. The Cardinals come in at 3-2 with two of their wins coming against the Jets and the Washington Football Team. The Cowboys enter tonight’s game at 2-3 with a historically bad defense. The Cardinals have lost Chandler Jones, their best defensive player, for the season.

Let’s take a look at a few winning wagers for tonight’s doubleheader…

Arizona/Dallas Total Points Over 54.5 (-110)

In the last four games, the Dallas defense has given up 160 points. That’s 40 POINTS PER GAME! Enter Kyler Murray and Kliff Kingsbury. Murray is an exceptional athlete but he has been struggling the last few weeks with efficiency. This Dallas defense is the cure for teams that are struggling on offense.

Dallas gave up 30 points last week to the New York Giants which was averaging 11.8 points per game prior to facing Dallas. There seems to be no total that could be high enough in Cowboys games. Playing unders this year in the NFL has been a losing proposition. In Dallas games, it’s throwing away money. There is no other way to attack this game other than playing the over. It’s automatic at this point. Until things change, Cowboys over is the way to go.

Patrick Mahomes Over 305.5 Passing Yards (-112)

The Kansas City Chiefs will be turning it up on offense tonight after getting embarrassed by the Raiders last week. The Bills’ Achilles heel is their defense. Ryan Tannehill shredded the Bills defense last week. Mahomes should have a field day against this defense even without Sammy Watkins.

Patrick Mahomes Over 2.5 Touchdown Passes (+130)

For many of the same reasons as above, this will be an automatic play. The value is there if you can get it at this price of +130. The Chiefs recently acquired Le’Veon Bell but he will not be playing tonight. Clyde Edwards Helaire, who is 0-for-7 in goalline conversions, will again start at running back. Passing touchdowns is primarily the only way that Kansas City will score, especially with the Bills passing defense being as porous as it is.

Kansas City Chiefs -5.5 (-110)

This is a bad spot for the Buffalo Bills as they are coming off a short week following their Tuesday game against the Titans. The Chiefs should be motivated and looking to pour it on. Coming into tonight’s game off a loss to a division rival is not the type of Chiefs team that the Bills wanted to see. Kansas City will score early and often and take advantage of an unusually weak defense.

Chase Edmonds Over 21.5 Rushing Yards (-112)

Kenyan Drake was ineffective and Edmonds scored a key touchdown to seal the victory last week. Edmonds only had three carries but he netted 36 yards last week for an average of 12 yards per carry. Drake, who continues to get the start, had 18 carries for 60 yards averaging 3.3 yards per carry.

Edmonds gained the trust of the coaching staff and will see more carries tonight. He is definitely the better receiver and that should get him more playing time. Against this Dallas defense, Chase will have no problem getting to 22 yards on the ground. You can almost bet just about anybody to gain 22 rushing yards against the Cowboys. This total will be eclipsed early in tonight’s game.
