Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins is expected to miss time with his hamstring injury and a source tells ESPN’s Adam Schefter that it could be a couple of weeks, though Watkins is still being evaluated.
Watkins, who 21 catches for 222 yards and two touchdowns through their five games, injured his hamstring early in Kansas City’s loss against Las Vegas this past weekend. He’s dealt with health issues throughout his career since begin drafted with the No. 4 overall pick back in 2014.
Mecole Hardman, who was the team’s second-round pick in 2019, will take wide receiver No. 2 duties, though he’s likely to split time with Demarcus Robinson. The Chiefs play Buffalo in Week 6 and Denver in Week 7.
