The NFL has postponed the Broncos and Patriots game after New England defensive tackle Byron Cowart tests positive for COVID-19, according to multiple reports. The Pats have had four positive tests in the past eight days, including Cam Newton‘s last week.
The Patriots had reopened their facility on Saturday, holding practice after having been closed Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The NFL shut down the Patriots facility Sunday morning for the third time in 10 days while further testing is conducted, per ESPN.
Week 5 will serve as the bye week for both New England and Denver and the matchup between the two clubs will be moved to Week 6. The Patriots were scheduled to have a bye next week while the Broncos were scheduled to play the Dolphins, though the league will reschedule that contest.
