Nick Chubb suffered a knee injury on Sunday and after undergoing an MRI, the Browns have placed him on injured reserve.
“It’s a several week injury. We do expect him back this year,” coach Kevin Stefanski said (via Tony Grossi of ESPN 850).
Chubb has been diagnosed with an MCL sprain and the expectation is that he’ll miss six weeks.
He injured the knee during the first quarter of Sunday’s game when Cowboys tackle Trysten Hill rolled up on his right leg. In Chubbs’ absence, former undrafted free agent D’Ernest Johnson saw 13 carries for 95 yards and Kareem Hunt saw 11 carries for 71 yards and two touchdowns.
