Christian McCaffrey was one of the league’s many stars to go down with an injury on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, we heard that McCaffrey was expected to miss “multiple weeks” after suffering an ankle injury. The news got worse, as NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reports that McCaffrey suffered a high-ankle sprain and it’ll be 4-6 weeks before he returns.

It was after his second rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter vs the Buccaneers where he suffered the injury.

McCaffrey had 18 carries, 59 yards, and two touchdowns. The star running back also caught four balls for 29 yards.

Carolina will now have Mike Davis in the backfield and hybrid weapon Curtis Samuel could see additional touches. They combined for five rushes and 27 yards.

The Panthers are 0-2.
