Ben Roethlisberger returned to the Steelers lineup for the first time since Week 2 last season and the team benefitted greatly. Roethlisberger threw for 229 yards and three scores to lead the Steelers to a 26-16 victory over the Giants.

Pittsburgh looked good, but the victory did not come without a loss. Starting right tackle Zach Banner was lost for the season due to a torn ACL.

The former fourth-round pick seemed to find a solid home in Pittsburgh, after spending time with the Colts, Browns, and Panthers. The Steelers signed Jerald Hawkins off the Texans practice squad to the active roster.

More AFC North Notes

  • According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, James Conner doesn’t appear to have a high ankle sprain. He will be further tested on Tuesday and his status is up on the air for Sunday’s contest against the Broncos. Pittsburgh might not be featuring Conner as the starter, regardless of health, moving forward. Benny Snell Jr. made the most of his opportunity by toting the rock 19 times for 113 yards.
  • The Browns waived kicker Austin Seibert on Monday after a poor performance Sunday against the Ravens. The former fifth-round pick out of Oklahoma missed his lone extra point and field goal attempts.
  • Cincinnati wasted no time and claimed Seibert off waivers on Tuesday. The status of Randy Bullock is up in the air as he suffered from leg cramps on his missed game-tying field goal attempt in Sunday’s loss to the Chargers. Seibert could play against his former team as soon as Thursday when the Bengals travel to Cleveland for a Thursday night showdown.
