Over the last month, we have seen the Seattle Seahawks sign players such as DE Branden Jackson, RB Patrick Carr, WR Seth Dawkins, DT P.J. Johnson, WR Paul Richardson, WR Lance Lenoir, WR Josh Gordon, and DE Damontre Moore. They have also waived players such as LB Emmanuel Ellerbee, CB Brian Allen, RB Anthony Jones, CB Kemah Siverand, DE Eli Mencer, WR Seth Dawkins, DE Pita Taumoepenu, and RB Patrick with an injury designation. They also claimed FS D.J. Reed off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers.
Now, the Seattle Seahawks like the 31 other teams in the league are evaluating players on there to see who to keep on their 53 man roster and cut before Saturday’s 4 PM EST deadline. They are also looking to see who to add to their 16 man practice squad.
Below are the important roster deadlines:
- 4 PM EST on Saturday, September 5 – rosters must be trimmed to 53.
- 12 PM EST on Sunday, September 6 – waiver claim deadline for players waived Saturday
- 1 PM EST on Sunday, September 6 – teams may sign players to the practice squad (up to 16 players)
- After 4 PM EST on Sunday, September 6 – Players moved to injured reserve after 4 PM Sunday are eligible to return to the 53 man roster and play during 2020.
