Fournette was waived the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday after they declined to pick up his fifth-year option. They tried to receive trade compensation for Fournette, but couldn’t find any takers for running, who was due $4.2 million, according to SI’s Ben Pickman.
The Buccaneers already had a crowded backfield after signing LeSean McCoy last month. Ronald Jones II was the clear starter, though, prior to the Fournette signing. Recently, experts at The Huddle, pegged McCoy as one of the biggest risers in fantasy football drafts, and a handcuff to Jones.
