Cardinals running back Kenyan Drake was in line to be a huge draw for fantasy football in 2020, but that is now in limbo.

Drake didn’t practice on Monday and he was seen in a walking boot after dealing with soreness, according to Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury says that it was for “precautionary reasons.”

If Drake were to miss any time, fellow running back Chase Edmonds would likely be the beneficiary. Kingsbury recently said that the Cardinals feel like Edmonds is a “starting running back in this league.”

Drake signed his transition tag contract earlier this year and will make 8.5 million. He was the midseason V8 engine to the Cardinals stalled running game in 2019. In eight games he garnered 643 yards and eight scores for Arizona.

49ers Rookie Suffers Hamstring Injury

The hits just keep coming for the 49ers wideouts.

Rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk left practice Sunday morning with a hamstring injury. The 2020 first-round pick was running a deep route down the right sideline when he pulled up and grabbed his left hamstring, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Bay Area.

Aiyuk is one of the many 49ers receivers that have gone down including Deebo Samuel (foot injury), Jalen Hurd (torn ACL), Richie James (wrist injury), and tight end Ross Dwelley (foot injury).

Aiyuk’s draft stock was skyrocketing after this onslaught of injuries. In his senior year at Arizona State, he wowed NFL draft analysts after catching 65 passes for 1192 yards and eight scores.
