The 49ers are prepping for the worst as second-year wide receiver Jalen Hurd was taken off the practice field Sunday with a knee injury.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, they are fearing that Hurd has a torn ACL after undergoing an MRI on Monday morning.

The 2019 third-round pick out of Baylor missed his rookie season due to a back injury he suffered in training camp last year.

San Francisco’s wide receiver depth already was treading water with rookie standout Deebo Samuel suffering a Jones fracture in his left foot. They signed former Cowboys wideout Tavon and former Cardinals wideout JJ Nelson on Saturday.
