Tom Brady decided to leave New England and join Tampa Bay this offseason, though Jason La Canfora reports that Brady had interest in calling another NFC South team his: the New Orleans Saints. The scribe calls his interest “very serious.”
New Orleans also had an interest in bringing Brady to their team. However, all discussions hinged on Drew Brees retiring.
Brees, who made headlines this week with his response to the protests that are going on around our country, re-signed with the Saints earlier in the offseason. Brees’ decision to return happened just hours before Brady declared he would play in Tampa Bay.
Brady was 1000-1 to sign with the Saints, as we relayed back in March. Only four teams—the Seahawks, Packers, Ravens, and Chiefs—had worst odds than New Orleans.
