Redskins wide receiver Cody Latimer was arrested over the weekend and the 27-year-old appeared in court on Monday. He is facing five individual charges, including assault, menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, and reckless endangerment.
Latimer, who was released on $25,000 bail, was participating in a poker game at a friend’s house when the wideout got into a “heated argument” with another player at the table, per ESPN. Latimer’s friend order everyone to leave and they did, but Latimer returned about 30 minutes later and pulled out a handgun and waved it around, threatening to kill everyone in the house. Latimer later “emptied the magazine and cleared the chamber of his gun” after he fired a pair of shots at his friend.
On top of it all, on Monday, Latimer was contacted regarding “an investigation of a sexual assault of Latimer’s 4-year-old son that was allegedly perpetrated by one of the individuals at that poker game.”
Latimer signed with the Redskins this offseason after stints with the Giants and Broncos.
